Teknetics T2 LE question

I have a T2 special edition and need some help here. I have left messages and emails with Teknetics and no reply. I saw on there website about how to tell if its fake. To do this you press and hold the menu button, push the trigger forward, and then turn on unit. It says if the number you see is less than 8.8 its fake. When I do this it reads 6. and then shows LE for limited edition. Does anyone no if this is true? If its ok then whats the difference between 8.8 and 6.?
