What Do You Make?

I have been busy for my hobby to rebuild my city in 1560 in 3D graphics. Around that year Jacob van Deventer drew this map.

I have made a tour in Virtual Reality for a museum in Eindhoven. If you have a VR headset you can view it via the app veer.tv and this link

The tour is also visible on Youtube:

Neat idea to recreate your city as it was in the past in 3D VR !

I haven't used them in a while but I have some inexpensive "Google Cardboard" type VR glasses, I think mine was about $5 way back when I got them. (I think at least one place had free ones way back then)

While maybe not this exact brand, my pair is very similar to the example here -

https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Google-Compatible-Instructions-Construction/dp/B00Q1FITMO

I make acoustic guitars and tempting some ukulele builds. I also like making jigs for the building of instruments.
First photo is a Cigar Box Guitar with matching Amp.
Next is an Archtop Guitar. Then various jigs for building ukes.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

That arch top is beautiful. I’d love a hand built ukulele. I made one from a Stew Mac kit in 2009. I’d really love a tenor to match my Taylor nylon string guitar. Rosewood with a cedar top. Slotted head.

I make big custom rings, out of recycled precious metals. 10 grams plus. I've also converted adjustable rings to one size. Spoon rings too. This has been a fun thread to read through  nice work everyone, and anyone who is still around!

Some really cool stuff in this thread! Not sure how I missed it before. Definitely a bunch of very talented folks on this forum.

I make Hip-Clips. A little device I came up with for belt carrying long handled metal detecting shovels.

Aside from that, I’m really good at making messes. At least that’s what my wife says.

Check out this help thread about how to post photos:

Hope it helps so we can see photos of your tables and banjos !

(banjos sound like a real challenge !)

I make paintings!
But the only thing you'll find with a detector is the staples in my stretchers!

What do the staples ring up as on the detector ?

Neat ! Very good artwork indeed, definiitely talented , good perspective with the smaller trees in the distance !

Hey, maybe paint a picture of digging a silver coin out of the ground ? :D

I took art as a side course in community college a long time ago, did fairly good at it and enjoyed it but haven't messed with painting or drawing much since then, but hey maybe I eventually might try it again !

Ha! Fortunately I haven't buried any of my paintings in the sand. But maybe it's an interesting idea; kind of like King Tut's Treasures!

You should try again- don't worry about masterpieces, just go out and draw from nature.

 but hey, art is "treasure" simply from the enjoyment of making it !

Not that I likely won't try drawing/painting again, right now I have kinda been using my "artistic" creativity to make funny edits

I really like your idea, but hanging one of my metal detecting shovels from my belt that keeps my pants up would not be a good idea, could you imagine a 7 ft man running around with his pants down around his ankles that would be my issue LOL

Just tighten up that belt a little and you're good to go.

Some Amazing talents guys! Beachunter those are beautiful!

Done many things over the years, first... I made custom frames for motorcycles, then I made something call the hard head. Did several of those for friends. Jump into cars, and made 4 link setups. From there I build computers for several years but that was because I could get the parts from work. That died out and I retired from work after 39 years. Got into beach detecting, seen the need for better. So I did modifications and made parts for the excalibur... head phones, custom endcaps, handles with the disc button / switch..Done many for those on friendly.. Retired from that, now only give advice and modify my own machines.

Also made a few Li-ion batteries for the Fisher limited AQ

A lot of very talented people on the forum. I'm not a very creative person. I have to modify something already built to make it better. I love muscle cars, drag racing and fishing.

That's a classic! 64..65? 289..327. 396? Nice looking paint job..!!

I remember those day! Expensive hobby! Looks like 10 bolt rear setting there and I am guessing you pulled that and put a 12 bolt in? Lot of work there!

That is a very special chevelle. 1965 chevelle malibu ss came with a 375hp 396. If your bored some time google z-16 chevelle. I also have an 1986 mustang with 500hp. The rear end is from the mustang. The chevelle has the original 12 bolt in it still..

They are expensive to drive. Racing gas is $9.00 a gallon right now.
