Need Help With 2 Mystery Items.

I found both of these items in the same yard. The house is 1850's I believe. The item with the round ring looking thing is brass. The other almost looks a key, or maybe horse tack? I don't know that's why in asking the experts on this forum lol. Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like a sink stopper without the rubber... but I think not... Think it was fastened to thin metal or leather perhaps...that's all I got
