Looks like lead 99% sure...

Lead can have a wide range of properties depending on how much tin is mixed in with it..

In the death of Mr. Glauber, Cleveland has lost one of its foremost citizens, a man whose life was devoted to philanthropic work. He was a profound student of scientific matters and was of marked inventive ability. When but a boy, Mr. Glauber became the protege of the Hon. John H. Farley, former mayor of Cleveland. He gave him a position at the Farnum Brass Works, of which Mr. Farlev was at that time general manager. From the beginning Mr. Glauber followed his motto: "Do it better than anyone else.”
