I found this in a box of pennies

I searched a box of pennies last week. This is one of the wheat ¢ that I got from the box. It has a weak "8". I can't see where it could have been worn through circulation

IMO if it was normal circulation wear, the other numbers would be worn down too, along with the rest of the coin. I agree with amc, possible grease filled die. Nice catch!

Thanks. I found the same explanation other places.. no premium value.. but holding on to it as other wheats
