I visited one of my favorite fishing holes and knowing the water levels were low I checked an old map to see where old houses use to be. I was walking along finding fishing lures and saw what looked like remnants of an old house. It made sense from what I saw on the map. I started detecting and soon started finding wheatbacks. They were in rough shape but I did see 2 were from the 30's and 2 were from the teens. I found an old pocket watch, a 1929 dog tag and some old bullet casings. When I saw a 32/33 pop up on the Nox I thought it was just another penny with a nail next to it like I had seen twice in the past 30 minutes. But 2 inches of sandy dirt later I was looking at my first Barber Quarter - 1909 D . INSTANT smile. It is in great shape, a little dark from being submerged most of the year. I plan on trying the spot some more!

Very nice detail on the barber quarter. The dog tag is older than any I've ever found nice job. You have enough lures there to start a bait shop.

Congrats on all of the finds! Especially that gorgeous Barber! It looks like someone dropped it the day after it was minted.
