Hi, I found these bullets at an old house site that existed from at least 1875 to 1963. They are around 9 mm in diameter. Can you please identify from what pistol they are and how old they are. Thank you in advance.

Modern bullets. Modern as in post civil war.
9mm is probably no earlier than WW1 era in U.S.

Probably not 9mm. 9mm bullet is usually 0.355 diameter but can be 0.358. 38 special and 357 mag is also about 0.357. Just an observation, if it's a bullet it's what's called a hollow base bullet. that base looks to large for the round. the peening doesn't quite look like an impact, looks more like it's been pounded on. There are no rifling striations either. They should be parallel to the axis of the bullet. It may be a bullet but I'm not so sure.

Thanks for the reply! Could this be a rifle striation mark? There are 6 of them on each bullet and they are the same distance apart from each other. Also, I remeasured the diameter and it was a tiny bit less then 9mm.

Looks like hard cast fired into clean dirt (no rocks).

Definitly a fired bullet.Possibly a hollow base wadcutter, load it with the hollow base forward and it makes a devastating defense or hunting load.
