Dug at an 1820s Maine farm house yard. Lead, 11mm by 15mm. Looks like it has some animal hair stuck to it. 2 rings.

Spent some time looking up bullet ID but didn't find an answer.

Interesting bullet dimensions. 11 mm would be 0.43 inches or a 43 caliber. I do know that the 44 bullet is in that size range and they were used in the Civil War. I see the two "rings' you mention but they are next to two groves. Old Civil War bullets could have those too. That's about all I can add.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it was Civil War era myself. A number of young men from the small town I'm in fought in the war, including at least one from the house where I found the bullet. Or, it's just a late 1800s lead bullet. Either way it's cool.
