The plastic has worn through to the inside chamber and dirt is getting in. Anyone have suggestions on how to repair? I am thinking either filling them with epoxy or similar or maybe finding a piece of plastic to glue right over the tip. I'll be grateful to hear any advice.

Dang... Danny, you must be digging in concrete with that thing. I seen where people put those plastic chair legs covers on them, may want to try something like that and epoxy it in place.

Great news! Its still under warranty and Garrett will repair/replace.
Thanks for your thoughts. Good luck on all of your hunts.

Garretts has always handed me back a "like brand new" looking pointer every time, regardless of it was internal issues. The outer skin replacement is automatically done during repair process.

I happen to be a 40 minute drive away from Garretts. Great service!

I coated the end of my Propointer with truck bed liner when I got it. I have been using it for over three years now without any sign of wear. It's stronger than that plastic dip.
