Hi,

Long story but I'll keep it short:

I need a center stem for my F5. I got this sent to me and you will notice that one end is tapered without a black collar lock. The tapered end is the same diameter as either the main unit or the bottom coil stem. The only thing I can do is to cut it but this will make the stem shorter than I might want. Plus, I will have to use my own ring washer to keep it tight. I need a center stem that will go over the other stems like the original. In one of the pictures is the center stem of the Fisher F2 which I used on the F5,

I looked at the manual and it must be wrong. I just cut a portion of the stem and placed it into the Fisher F2 and used the round clamp. It looks like it works. In the F5 manual, it shows a tapered center stem going into the "S" rod and the black collar locking it. However, in real life the center stem goes over the "S" stem. The "S" stem has the taper as well.

The picture you will notice with the "S" stem has the taper on it. If you look at the manual, it shows the center stem as having the taper.

Again, I took the center stem from the Fisher F2 and placed it on the F5 and that is perfect. The center stem for both of these has no taper on them - it's the "S" rod that has the taper and the center stem fits over both sections.

Plus, the design of attaching the coil wire to the unit is not the greatest, I'll tell the entire story in the future on what to do when shipping a unit.

Hi Detecting,

I received this F5 from the factory back in 2011/12. I sent it in to Fisher and they lost my center stem and claimed I never sent it in with the unit!!! That will be another story.

Yeah, on the f2 and f5 the S rod has the taper on it and it has a center stem that goes over it. Yeah, crazy
