Astonishing finds Lett! A person wonders if that film was ever used and what it would have shown if it had been exposed.

Do you ever try to find out who the dog tags belong to? If I was finding those the curiosity of who they were and what happened to them would drive me nuts.

Do you ever try to find out who the dog tags belong to? If I was finding those the curiosity of who they were and what happened to them would drive me nuts.

From Dog Tag its not possible to identify the person because it contains identification number. With dog tag you can go to some German institutions that deal with dog tags but they will not give you any official information, its secret.

The tags are primarily used for the identification of dead and wounded soldiers, and to convey essential basic medical information, such as blood type.
Germans don't put names on the tags, they write names and last names and other information in every soldier's "Soldbuch" - a small booklet which they carry with them.

p.s. The dogs tags need be returned to German Government only if you find the dog tag with the soldier.
The 1/2 doesn't mean KIA - at the end of war soldiers just broke the tags and threw away.

Best regards, Lett.
