After several years of not having time to get out and do a little swinging, I was granted a great opportunity to do some dirt fishing at a house that was built in 1909. It originally served as a 2 story motel in a railroad town in the Bootheel of rural Missouri. It operated until the Great Depression and rail lines stopped running. It became a family home after that. I was only able detect for a couple hours, but had a great time, was good to dust off the Ol’ Etrac and hear the “silver tones” again. Nothing spectacular, but did pull a couple of decent dimes. Hopefully I get to go back and hit the backyard and other old buildings in the small farming town.
