First coin with the Nox 600

Nice digs, Dan! Interesting report on the 9” IHP surrounded by nails. I’m pretty certain my current machine wouldn’t hit that coin either - I haven’t dug any coin deeper than 8” with it to date, let alone one polluted with iron. Looks like you’re getting good results so far with the new machine - I’m paying close attention ;)

“Defiance” tag looks interesting, too. Obviously a fairly local connection...any ideas there?

As far as the tag goes. I looked up defiance carriage and found a small article on a carriage and buggy company in that particular town.

Beautiful Indian Head! It must have been something to pull that out amongst the iron targets, and especially at that depth. That NOX must be a darned good detector.

Do you happen to remember what the VDI number rang up as for the coin? I've been working an extremely nail-infested (and modern trash infested) 1850s house yard and I've been having trouble picking out "the good stuff" so I've just been digging pretty much everything.
