Hello Friends,

I'm pretty new to the hobby... about 2 months since receiving my first Metal Detector. Been getting my feet wet in my own back yard and over the past week or so I've been hunting my first permission site...a large home on 3 acres that was built in the 1880's.

I've been finding quite a few Wheat Pennies, 1 - Buffalo Nickel, and lots of contemporary coins.

Today I found this thing buried down about 6 inches.
It was giving me a solid 30 vdi on my Vanquish 440. Silver?

Its about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and feels somewhat heavy.
See photo along side some quarters I dug up today.

Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks!

Not silver..i have no idea what it could be ...

I've seen things like this for straightening raw wool and stuff into thread. I'll try to find a name for it online.

I found one just like that, it was packed with hair. I was told it could be a horse curry comb. I also had others I’d it as a frog too.

It’s a frog for flower arranging?

Thanks guys!
Truly appreciate all the responses.

I just Googled "Flower Arrangement Frog"
Yep... my find sure looks like one of these.

I never heard of a "Flower Arrangement Frog" before.
I'm learning so many new things with this hobby!

Dang, a day late and a dollar short. Flower frog. My mom had them and i was constantly stabbing my fingers as a kid digging in the cabinet where they were kept.
