I found this yesterday about 6 inches deep at an old home site. The crossed rifles look to be old style and the only marking on the back is one star. The shaft on the back is threaded. Any idea of the age?

looks like a WWI Infantry, Co. D

Thanks for the information Kid. I just talked to the guy that owns the property and he said his grandfather was in WW1 and that was his home site on the farm. So I will give the pin to him and he will pass it on to his grand kids. Feels good to make a connection like that.
