I have no idea who Scotty is yet, but I love that medallion/charm/whatever it is...this was one of those untouched yards that don't come up very often (and I imagine them to be as every yard was for you guys who detected back in the 80's....)

Mike and I spent the afternoon at a yard that was not promising at first. The open spaces were very thin for targets. We decided to wait to detect the front yard under the trees until it warmed up (it was shady and cool). When it got warmer, we split it up. Targets started to beep all over the place. Then we decided "free for all" and started digging up everything. Our whole day was pretty much spent in the small shaded front yard. And it was loaded....

I think we found 26 or 27 wheatback pennies between us. I found 4 silver coins (Mike got nothin in the silver department!). Mike got a skeleton key and an iron skeleton-ish key, so, fair enough...

In one area approximately two feet square, I dug a silver Washington quarter, a mercury dime, a buffalo nickel, Jefferson nickel, wheatback penny and a memorial penny.. I was pretty impressed with the six coin FULL HOUSE!!! After I took the photo, I dug a 1901 Indian Head penny right next to the mercury dime plug.... and when I came back through later I dug the 1951 Roosevelt dime about 6 inches away...… that has to be a kid's coin collection that he/she buried??

But most of this stuff was near the remnants of a swing on a dead limb (that I photographed and that Mike decided to photobomb). The property owner, who is in his 70's, said his dad used to sit in that swing and watch the cars go by.... maybe he liked to throw wheat pennies out in the yard too.....or had a hole in his overall pocket..

Good buttons; I am hesitant to call the eagle button a civil war veteran bring-back....I can't see a back mark so I don't know...cleaning might clear that up? And the anchor button is pretty cool....

But my favorite it Scotty!!!! I need to look him up!

Real beautiful property. The owners sure are keeping it up nice. Looks like a great day detecting.

Amazing haul T. An awesome mixed bag hunt. Congrats on the silver score. Would love to get on a permission like that. I'm sure that place has more to give up. And yes that Scotty token is pretty cool. Good luck Mark

Yes; may have to go back...

Awesome hunt, story, and pictures, teotw! Great finds across the board, but that Scotty token is worth its weight in gold....real gold, not Scotty mine gold

Wow! What a day. That token is so fun, especially after reading the history behind it. Great finds!
