Hit an old yard today in my local town. Not much but clad until I hit the old axe head. Anyone know how to tell the age on it? But about 15 feet over in the front yard I got an 85. I was thinking silver dime. At about 6-7 inches out popped this large round coin. Wow! I just got my third large cent. Completely covered in dirt I really couldn't tell. After getting it home and cleaning it I saw a faint seated figure on it. Not a large cent. But what? After a good cleaning it turns out to be a Mexican 1866 1/4 De Real. Same size a a large cent. Minted only from 1860-1866 for the Mexican state of Chihuahua. So not a large cent but interesting coin to find.
