Im not sure if anyone has done this...probably so but my hand was starting to hurt after long hours swinging in the deep water. This can be done to any detector with a straight shaft setup but a standard grip never conforms to my hand. With the continual resistance in the water, it can be difficult after a while and if you have carpal tunnel, this can help.
So I finally changed the grip with a new palm friendly handle bar grip that clamps down, then add a custom bracket (still rough) for the top with another velcro strap from a arm cuff and I'm all set.
Finally I have more area to grap and "push" to the right and the strap helps bringing it back to the left. It can be moved to be ambidextrous but the grip isnt quite made for that unless you use the other side.
