Hong Kong Silver?

I was at the beach in Puerto Rico this morning and found this. I have the EQ 800, it rang up in the 20 range and sounded real solid! Dug it up to find this. I don't know much about foreign coins/markings. Just getting into this, any help is appreciated, thank you.

The words are "Hong Kong" written on it.

Well, it might help explain the Van Morrison lyric, "We go steppin' way out on China town, All to buy some Hong Kong silver" - was Hong Kong known for silver?
 
I would say it is a pendant, in the first pic, there appears to be damage at the 12:00 which might have been a loop. Just a guess though.
