Greetings from El Dorado County, CA

Hello all,
I just joined the site. I am retired now and getting back into metal detecting with a Garrett AT-Gold. I am also taking a few road trips to Nevada each year to look around old mines, mining camps and ghost towns using a 4WD. I have access to the S. Fork of the American river near my home. If anyone is interested in teaming up to detect for gold or looking around other interesting sites please contact me. I'm fit enough for long hikes to access remotes sites. The photos are some things found near my home. The jar contained about 1.5 pounds of mercury. All the best.

The jar of Mercury is interesting, did a quick search and found that California seems to be the main place in the U.S. to find Mercury -

I was wondering and checked online and mercury is fairly pricey, sounds like you could make money selling it, but you got to be very careful handling that stuff as it is toxic.
