Never dreamed that my very first silver would be a standing Liberty quarter, but here she is. The Patriot was dialed in today and I'm getting more comfortable with experimenting with different settings. I had worked this curb before on factory default finding nothing but some clad. Today however I cranked the settings up and was finding loads of scrap when I got a decent signal at 4 inches. Pulled the plug on what I figured was another memorial when I caught the bright silver flash in the morning sun. I mumbled under my breath that it was a new state quarter that had somehow got mashed deep, but when I brushed the dirt away I couldn't hardly believe my eyes! I said on another forum that she's wore slap out but still the prettiest thing I've ever seen. I'll never forget today. Thanks to Digger27, THGT, and the many others that have offered instruction and encouragement.
Found a 1944 wheatie and .75 cents in clad along the same curb.

WOW, May I be the first to congratulate you. Thats an awesome keeper. It makes me wish I would have gone detecting today.lol

I remember when I first saw my first SLQ come out the dirt and seeing that eagle looking at me I new it was something special. Congratulations on a epic first silver experience.

Big congrats!
Lots of standers are worn smooth, and sometimes ground rough too. Yours is slick, but still has a very clear date! Many have the date worn off too, so you got lucky there.
I remember the great feeling of finding my first SLQ a couple years ago. Now, if I could find a second one...

WTG man trying new things pays off ;) By far my favorite coin and fav to find  only found 3 in 5 years but man i love those beautiful SLQ Coins
