When I first got it, I thought it was a wheattie, but....

Took the coin to our last club meeting, where other,
more knowledgeable people declared it to be a
Macedonian coin. Hmm.

I finally dug into my World Coins book. Turns out to be
a 50 Orec coin from Norway. How the heck did it get here?

Thanks for looking.

Is that the date I can see on it, 2001 ?

Where did you find it Rudy, field , park, beach ?

Terry and Hoser,

Here in California, many of us are constantly finding foreign coins. Guess it is partly due to tourism, but it still amazes me. I for one will be sorry once all these coins are gone and get replenished with Euro coins, which I am finding with increasing frequency.

Hi Alan, Found it in a park. It was caked in mud when I got it, which is why at first thought it was a wheattie.
