I've made a post about showing me your best find. Let's mix it up a bit. Let's see your best find from a public park!

I want to find a gold ring so bad

When you least expect it one will show up.
BTW, if you think you have gold fever now just wait, after you finally find some it gets way worse.
Kinda like crack...once you have some you want lots more.

If you have parks with basketball courts search around the perimeters.
This one and about 12 more I found were right next to these things.

Public parks near me are soooo hunted out ! As old as they are, I only go hoping to find recent jewelry drops and that is why this find last week was such a surprise. A soccer field in a park that dates to 1945.
I guess Tom from Calif is right about the LC’s falling from the sky here on the east coast !4E1DE68A-0444-47F3-B2BA-016FB3DE48AB.jpeg

No pics but a 1924 Peace dollar in the woods next to ball fields and across the street (same park) an 1816 LC three feet from a picnic table down about 10 inch.
Not far from there an 1898 V nickle.
Another is an 1850 Bank of Upper Canada half penny token on a side line of a soccer field.

Civil War token found while hunting with Ice Scratcher.

Two barber halves the same day. Public park.

Better one graded VF25.

I don’t hunt parks much so this would likely be it.

All of my best stuff has come from public parks.

In one small public park I have pulled a 1745 King Philip V half reale, a 1790 King Carlos IV half reale, a 1738 KGII, a 1737 KGII, and an 1896 Newfoundland 20 cent piece. This park has been weird. Only modern coin I found was a 1945 Washington Quarter. No other coins. Lots of buttons. Many of them Rev War.

Another public park has given me a 1735 KGII

Another public park has given me a 1787 Massachusetts Large Cent.

Another Public Park has given me a 179X draped bust LC.

Another Public park has given me a 1906 Barber Half and a 1877s Seated Dime.

And one of my absolute favorite finds, also from a public park - a late 1800's monogramed sterling silver thimble in perfect shape..

To be fair, the first park mentioned isn't very big, and once had a house on it that was built in the early 1700's. The house burned down in the 1970's and the town leveled the lot and made it a park. So, there is also a ton of nails and other house parts i have to fight through there. I am sure there are more goodies there. I am going to hit it tomorrow since I will be in the area. Hopefully, it turns up something nice. Last few times there only turned up shotgun shells, musket balls, and lots of nails. This will be my first hunt since like April or so.
