A week ago, Old North State Detectorists members Rodney Joslin and myself responded to a lost ring report at the local Price Park in Greensboro, NC. The ring had been lost during a family outing on a trail by the lady's 5 year-old daughter who wasn't even supposed to have the ring. She confessed back at the house about losing it and in what area, but a return trip by the family didn't turn up the ring. The lady's husband did some computer searching that evening, found the club info and emailed us for help.
The end result was while walking ahead a bit of the working detector, the lady found her own lost ring lying on the side of the path. It had been there for two days in plain sight under a few pine needles. Needless to say, she was very excited and thanked the club for their assistance. She offered a $40.00 donation which was politely turned away. It was the Christmas season after all.
