I was at my job in the Casino when I overheard a lady talking to one of my cocktail servers about her daughter and her lost ring. The ring was a gift from her dad, who passed when she was 17 months old. The little girl had been riding her bike (9 years old) in the front yard when the ring fell off. She had begged her mother to let her wear it one time. The mom had spent two weeks combing her yard trying to find the ring. I told her that I was a detectorist (is that a word?) and I would be more than happy to try to find the ring. She lived about an hour away but it took only 30 minutes to find it and give it back to the mom. Ain't this a great way to spend a day? I only found 13 cents the rest of the day, but the little girls smile was more than worth it.

Nice work! That sounds like some good karma in the bank for you!

Nice! It does make you feel good when you find something that means so much to them. She is lucky she remembered about where it fell off.

A lot of times people think they know where they lost it, but most of the time they remember where they were when they noticed it missing.

I can vouch for that, Carol. I tried to help out one guy who thought he lost his ring in his yard while raking leaves. Several months had passed, and I found out he had no idea where in the yard (3/4 acre) it could be. After looking for 2.5 hours, I gave up and offered to let him borrow my detector (Ace) sometime. He admitted that it might not have even been lost in the yard, that was just his assumption.

Great job, Wayne.

Way to go!!! You very much deserved that heart warming feeling!!! Such a nice ARK (A Random act of Kindness)!!! Your making us other metal detectors look like good people!!! LOL!! Congrats again!!

That's what it's all about, man! Good for them... & good for you!
Congrats on a job well done!
