Last Spring, I had learned one of my close friends passed away suddenly at 37 years old. I decided to go detecting the next day and found my first large cent (in beautiful condition).

Fast forward to today, I took the afternoon off and detected a historic permission-- a long-time funeral home in the city I grew up. The very same funeral home I carried my friend's casket down the front steps.

I could see those steps as I dug this, another incredible large cent, minted one year after the one I found last year.

An amazing story to say the least.

Wow congrats on the great largie and that seems a bit odd coincidence about how you found those two.

Nice reveal in-situs. (But....for the record ... I didn't say that. ok ?) :lalalala:

Awesome find, AoB! Sorry to hear about your friend, but that sure makes for an wonderful, interesting story to go along with both of those Large Cent finds. One of the things I love about this hobby are some of the unusual “coincidences” that often pop up along the way!

Here’s one of my favorite odd coincidences that happened to me:

Happy Birthday, Mr. B.M. Soleau!
