Went for a quick scan of the dunes at the beach this morning and saw this common Citrate of Magnesia bottle sticking out of the sand. This type had a bail and stopper closure originally and judging from the bottom, I'm guessing 1915-20 era. Why someone would be drinking this at the beach I dunno

Also found a 1947-s cent. The winds off the lake blow the sand up the dunes (in the winter) uncovering things too heavy to blow away so they show on the surface. Common to find old bottles, cans, coins and other interesting "stuff".

Nice. I have/had one like it that I dug 40 some years ago. I don’t remember the blobish top though.

Yeah these had a variety of closures through the many years they were made. These bottles are pretty common.

This one had a bail and stopper arrangement like this (with different embossing though) now gone.
