Ok. Found this on my first outing with EQ-800.
Site History: House on 1 acre fully surrounded by farmland. Dug this at approximately 6" deep approximately 30 feet away from a location where a prior building once stood. in 1977 as a kid, at the age of 6 and after, I would explore what was then a standing rectangular foundation and cement floor. I recall there was a few long pieces of angle iron, some implements which l thought were from farming operations .
later i learned the history of the house my grandparents lived in. it had been built in east central Indiana in the late 1800s to house and feed the workers that worked the gas and oil fields. knowing this now may shed some light on what this relic actually is... which at this point i can only fathom (guess) as indicated in the Title's post.
I don't have a test kit but it is not magnetic. the magnet simply slides right off. I'm assuming it is copper or brass. width = 1 5/8"
