ive just watched a video on utube where an old guy whos into Mding shows how a pin pointer words excatly the same as a stud finder so im curious to know whats ur reviews on this ?

Haven't seen the video.....
But, now that I have a Sun Ray I would definitely get an MD specific pin pointer. Pro pointer from Garrett is also very popular.

well yeah it looks for nails in the wall to find a stud but shallow depth and all metal mode.....

I bought a stanly stud finder thinking it will work like a pinpointer. Was i wrong it beep on anything it touch including dirt. So be carefully what you get.

i've tried a stud (nail) finder called the Lil Wizard and it's not very good at all for MDing. i recently got the Pro Pointer and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread! you can't go wrong with it!
