gold dollar

Not only have I never found one, I only know of one "Milwaukee area" guy who has, and I know about 50-60 detectorists in this area.
Considering the fact that I dig about 90% of all repeatable, iffy signals, I really do hope to find one someday.

2 years ago, about 8" deep, the last coin from the hole was the gold dollar coin 1853

Well ..... Yes. Of course. Go to any ghost town, stage stop, or beach storm erosion ...... throw a rock in any direction, and yes: You'll likely hit a gold coin. That method works better than the "whistle" method.

Also: Pesky common Philly mints are a rarity here. We mostly get the rarer S mints. haha

But you do admit the whistling method DOES work. It just isn't as efficient rock throwing method.
