2.9 grams of yellow goodness

So I got up at 6am this morning to hit the local HS football field for the third time. Today I was going to concentrate on finding a gold ring. I got to the school at 6:45, drive up to the parking area and there's a bunch of cars there! WTH, it's labor day wanting to be stealthy, I reluctantly turned around and decided to try the baseball field which is about a quarter mile away from and out of sight of the school. I have to admit I didn't have high hopes for this place, but figured what the heck, might as well hit it since I didn't have a backup plan. I only hit the area right outside the fence that goes from home plate to the left and right field corners. Didn't hit much at all on the right field side so I headed over to the left field side and started hitting some coins...mostly quarters which I love digging. As I was coming back from the left field corner I got a solid 10 on the nox that just sounded too good to pass up. Dug down about 2" and I see shiny yellow. At first I thought it might be gold plated, but the backside looked like cast gold with all the little dimples and it had a nice gold heft feel to it in the hand. Couldn't find any markings though unti I got home and looked at it through my 16x magnifyer. Found 14k with an infinity symbol next to it on the post also got $3.92 in clad. Those three grommets sure sounded good! Not bad for an hour and half hunt that started out bad. Third (edit: this is my 4th gold this year...one was an eyeball find) gold for the year and third with the nox.
