I finally found my white whale bucket lister today!!! I was so stoked and excited! I wish it had a date but I’m not complaining whatsoever! Type 1 SLQ, probably a 1917 and not the super rare 1916. Also got 5 Indians with the oldest being 1888. And 9 wheats along with a 1906 V nickel. Also that 1955 Dog Tax is now the oldest known tag for a particular town! It was a good day. I’ll add cleaned up pics later.

Definitely a great hunt! The standing liberty quarter is just a tough dig for lots of folks. Took me like 7-8 years to find one... big congrats!

Nice. That one still eludes me as well after 6 years. Have Barbers, seateds but the SLQ is still hiding from me. Congrats

Congrats on finding your whitewhale. The SLQ seems to be an elusive coin for many. Looks like you had an awesome hunt with all the other great finds. Well done. HH Mark

Ok, now your bucket-lister objective is to get one with a crisp-date on it now :cool3:

It seems they’re tough to find initially...then they aren’t so elusive. I don’t know how or why, but that is a pattern seen over and over with other coins too. It could have to do with the spots that are being hunted, I don’t know.
I know it feels good to find the “first” of anything, congrats on your first Stander!

Real nice hunt there! And congrats on the bucket lister. Those variety 1 are cool but never saw one with a date. I've got 1 without a date as well but has an S mint mark so has to be 1917. Your's could possibly be either year! Exciting to know but probably going to bug you with thoughts of "what if?"

Again, good finds!
