Ive only recently come back into the fold of detecting. I got out for 2 short hunts on Nov 8/9 . i was hunting a 1940s house and imagine my surprise when i pulled my first 2 center out of the ground. Its a 1867..shortly after i pulled the 41 merc. the next day i hit a cellar hole and managed to pull a second 2 center 1864. It was a great way to get back into the game!

2 cent pieces are really hard to come by in southern WI where I am, but I see you’re in Maine, which is part of the infamous “eastern seaboard” that we tease viciously about old copper brimming from every sandbox! Well...Tom in CA does anyway. It’s incredible, the coins waiting to be found everywhere really, but the oldies really seem to come fast and furious from the upper northeast!
Good to hear another has “re-discovered” the hobby, it seems you’re off to a SCREAMING re-start!
