Haven't been out much lately. Work responsibilities and cold weather have gotten in the way. I was able to spend all Sunday afternoon at an old public park. The ground was damp and easy to dig. I was finding wheat cent after wheat cent. I like wheats, but really wanted a silver coin or an Indian. As I was wrapping up, I dug a faint, bouncy, Indian like signal, that I was hoping was an Indian and.... out flips this! 1872 S Seated Dime. I haven't had a silver coin ring in so low. It was DEEP though. I was beyond happy! Not lots of Seated coins in Utah (At least I haven't found many). Found a few keys and a silver chain to round out the hunt.

Thanks for looking!

Great find! I really like how the date pops, even though the rest of the coin is worn a lot more.

Thanks guys!

There were only 190,000 minted in San Francisco that year. That one may be worth more than melt!

What a great day digging, congrats. I went out for a few hours yesterday, and got skunked. Plenty of old fence staples, wire, and a beer can. It just makes the next find that much sweeter.

Really nice dime, I am happy for you.

Oh you lucky dog ! Congrats on the seated dime and a great hunt . I did manage a 1892 Barber last year but it seems I can't find a seated. You've had yourself a good year. I hope you finish strong. Good luck, Mark

Seeing as how you're west of the Mississippi, you're privy to our better S mint coins, eh ? :cool3: A portion of "liberty" still showing, and no ground-kiss. I'd guess a $75 to $100 coin ??

I like the in-situ reveal pix !
