Is it possible for cell phones to create interference with your MD if you are carrying your phone and it's on while you detect? What about a magnet that is part of the phone case?? Any harm done if the two are too close??? :?:

i think i've heard of people having interference with phones, also some pinpointers can cause interference ( i think the vibra probe was one but i forget on what machine). not sure about damage to the phone with a magnet but i do know that your propointer will mess up the magnetic strip on credit cards...so don't put your propointer in the same pocket with your wallet

Last week someone posted about having to leave his cell phone in the truck. He found it was messing with his machine.

If my cell rings when I am waterhunting the detector picks it up... I either turn it off or leave it in the truck.

I think it has to do with the frequencies involved. I have used my phone while detecting and it has not interfered with my Ace 250 at all.
