I bought a Treasuremaster and so far, everywhere I looked I found trash. Two different sites and nothing but trash. Now I wonder if I should have gotten the Treasuremaster pro with it's high trash setting? Does the high trash setting really make a difference? Is it an improvement? It's really discouraging to not even find a coin so far. There could be coins as I have found a parking token before - simply churned up out of the soil, but with all this trash setting my detector off it'll be hard to find.

Uhhh...I hunted for a few more than two hunts when I started and just found trash.
It is possible you are just not in areas where there are coins, if you are hunting in places like public parks, even your front lawn there are probably coins there but you just haven't figured out how to notice them yet.
All detectors can find metal, yours and even cheaper ones can find coins fairly easily with a little knowledge which you don't seem to have a lot of...yet.
Blaming the detector is a sign of very little patience, get some and keep trying because the magic is not in your tools or even that trash setting on that other unit which is just a pre-set discrimination process...it is in you.
When you find your first coins that will give you knowledge and knowledge is all in this hobby.

You will laugh about this post up the road a bit, never give up, never surrender and always keep learning.

I had a not so great detector and found no coins at all until I tried hunting in my first tot lot.
Found a few then I went into the dirt and found more now that I had a clue and it got easier from then on.
It gets better as you get better.

I'm not blaming the detector nor am I trying to be negative. I'm just wondering if "the grass is greener" so to speak with the high trash setting that the treasure master pro has in high trash areas.

You will always find more trash than you will good stuff. People tend to care about the good stuff and either don't drop it, or look for it when they realize they dropped it. The trash. It is just that. They drop it and don't care.

trash lots

I have used my BH tk4 for a couple of months now. I recently got a treasuremaster and have yet to master it. I have dug a lot of pull tabs to get a nickel and have dug trash where it read a quarter should be. That being said, I love both my machines and I keep on digging hoping for that gold ring to come. It took me awhile to master my tracker IV, but now I dig way less trash and sometimes it out does the TM. I live on the gulf coast and I have run the beaches one day and cleaned up and dug only a penny and a dime later in the week. I go on Sunday after the weekend crowd has left. I have several parks that I go to and it is better. Remember to collect the trash and get rid of it if you are going to go back to that area so you don't target it again.
Don't get frustrated because you don't know what's down there until you DIG it.
The machine is just letting you know what it thinks is there.
I dig what it read as a quarter and got a semi rare $1.00 gaming token from a casino that Katrina destroyed.
I'm a dirt fishing addict now.
