Last Saturday's, and Sundays hunting included three sites, one was an old baseball field where I found a Merc, and a clad(1973 ) nickel in the same plug. About 4" apart in depth...
Later I found a '36 buffalo.
And a couple of Wheaties...and large token that says,
W.S. Wadsworth Forest City Iowa. 50 cents in trade
Heading down the road to another stop,
I spied an older home with recent yard work had been going on there,
big old bushes that had been pulled out away from the stone foundation of this late1800's home. So I Knocked on the door.... Nobody home!
I checked with the neighbors that were having a social gathering and some Busch lates' they said the lady that lives there was nice and she would be back till late Saturday evening, but told me of other places I might like to try....
So I called it a day,
Sunday morning I went back to that house and knocked again getting a permission!
(Score!)
One problem..... She's a cat Lady...
There were pusy-kin cat foot cans buried all over this yard!
I started out near the house,
where the bushes had been pulled out by a skid loader,
hard and bumpy ground.... Nothing to be found...
I moved to the back yard, looking for where a laundry line may have been... I found a few clad coins in a circular area...perhaps a laundry pole might have been there?
The soil and ground conditions aren't very good there,
you guys know that type...creeping Charlie grass....
Where you plug crumbles...
Well digging one target, kneeling down,
with my butt on my heels and weight on my toes,
my toes seemed to go into a hole in the ground,
then I heard some high pitches, not from my headphones though,
I see 3 baby rabbits running off to my side... What the heck is going on?
I turn to see my left foot was in a rabbit hole,
now I feel bad!
As that I squished the 4th baby bunny!

I did manage to target out two wheats one indian head 1902, a small Tootsie toy car, and a .925 "princess" tag...
( I wonder if one of those cats was named
"Princess" ?)
Giving up after my 11th ? cat food can... And 2 1/2 hrs....
I retreated from this permission for another day.
Baby hosenpeffer is now buried in a 8" deep plug below one of those cat food cans.

Heading back home I hit a productive curb strip in one other town,
I found a 1917, 10 cent franc...
