I am fortunate to have an old park near me that keeps on producing interesting finds. Rained last night so I went back to an area where I had found several tokens before. Thought I had a silver dollar for a second, a sweet 34 on the Equinox, but I'll settle for this amazing and cool half! The awesome brothel token was a couple feet away. Many have told me this park is hunted out. I've hunted this place over 100 times and still find old stuff. Love this hobby. 😁

Very rare to see any commemorative halves posted. I've never found one durnit !

Nice! I’ve seen at least a dozen or more of the Columbian halves found over the years by roll hunters, but have never seen one dug, congrats!

The saloon token, what can I say?

Cool, that token is from Placerville AKA Hangtown, where Groundsweeper lives!

That Columbian Half is a great find! I've never seen one found detecting before. And of course, that brothel "token" is a new fantasy piece, but still cool.

Really nice half! I think they were only sold at the Chicago's World fair in 1892 and 1893. It is amazing to be found so far away! I've been lucky enough to have detected along the fair's midway plaisance and hoped for one of those... But just found a few wheats and a tax token.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm finding the remains of someone's collection. All these have been found in the same general area this year. The park used to be a military fort then was a mental institution for many years after that. I'm betting much more is out there.

Great finds Kev. You just keep squeezing that site and more fantastic stuff keeps popping out. Glad to see you taking advantage of the rain. Tells me it's time to start hunting the dirt again. Good luck on your future hunts. BTW, that square silver thing may have come from Gaffney's Resort on Lake Wilderness, circa 1920's I think.

Nice finds!

The commemorative half is one I've found coin roll hunting -- I think it's my oldest coin ever found actually. Always neat to find things you didn't even know existed.

With that token -- now you need to dig up a 190 year old 'sportin' woman' and cash it in lol!

I have never seen a Columbian half found either, great save!
That brothel token is one of the coolest I have ever seen though:shock::p
