My GP-POINTER's switch went haywire after moisture got into the thing. I decided to install a mercury switch so that it would automatically come on whenever I was trying to find that next silver coin in the hole or plug. Check out my video.

I don't think that would work for me since my Propointer rests in it's holder when I am not using it. It is in the same position that it would be when looking for a target. It would be on all of the time.

This mod would not work properly on the Garrett Propointer because the switch also changes the settings. The GP-POINTER does not have selectable settings.
I use my Propointer and the holster mostly.
The GP Pointer is merely a backup.the downside of this mod as you have noted is the inability to use the holster.
