After seeing some amazing Large Cents recently, I wanted to give them their due.
Please post your Large Cents here.
I have only ever found three of these, the first on a cold blustery day in September of 2012.
It was very well preserved in the sand under a sidewalk:D

I have none to add, but that is a great one to start off the thread with! :D Congtats on a real beauty, Matt! :woot:

Here's two of mine! A first year of issue 1808 Classic Head I found in a Massachusetts cornfield and an 1851 half cent I found in a St. Louis city park.

Well done to you all. Out of all the coins I have found over the years the large copper has eluded me.

I have 2 LC's from CA. One from a stage stop, and another following beach storm erosion. And got one from VA during the NDL hunt late last month. It is on the upper right in this pix. 1850 .

Here are all of mine, all dug this year. The two US Largies were both dug at the same park, one in early March and the other in late August. The Canadian Largie was from the front yard of a permission. Every one of them was a blast to find  The bottom two pictures give a better view of the dates on the two US large cents, and 1853 and 1838.

I only have pics of 2 Large cents, need to photo the third one.
They are 1822 with counter mark, 1835. Not shown is a Braided Hair but unreadable date so between 1839-1856.

Great Largies folks , thanks for sharing , I love seeing them . I'd show you mine but they are garage sale scores . I haven't had the good fortune to find one in the ground yet and most likely never will but I daydream about it a bit .

Hi Matmit, one of the best LC I've seen dug,WTG. Here is two I dug, came out of the same hole. Both are 1829, one on the right was heads up, the other heads down.In 45 years of hunting I've found about 30 U S large cents.Went 7 years before I found the first one.

Large cent is on my bucket list of coins I hope to dig some day.
But I have two in my coin collection,
that were handed down to me from my grandmother.
They make good test coins, to run the coil over.
The 1839 is the oldest US coin I have in my collection.
