And Ben wins against the Ken Proof!

Good old Ben came to KT's silver streak rescue this week and he was in the 1st box! There were 10 keeper NIFCs (still building those rolls), and that 1 pretty Proof in the 3rd box, that looks better than the pic of it!:laughing:

Some might say KT's wasting His Royal Time, but that is what is fun about this hobby. Until you run the entire box, you have no idea if it was a good box or a dog! Anyway, the Royal Silver Streak continues to have life!:lol:

The one picture this week because the Royal Camera did not seem to want to focus on only 1 coin at a time, but did better on 2 in the view!

Best of luck to all MDers and CRHers this coming week!

Nice work and report KT! Like the free Ben, and those frosties are growing on me

Royal Thanks for your kind comment, GroundSweeper! :D KT has been saving those frosties since He first came across one way back in 2012. Got several 100 of them now, but always am surprised when His Majesty spots another one!

Nice coins KT! Keep up the good work!

Cellerdwellr, Royal Thanks for your words of encouragement! :D:D

Nice going once again your Highness ! What are NIFCs ? Cool faceoff picture !

Royal Thanks, Soil Surgeon! Starting in 2002, the US Mint decided to drop the production of Kennedy half dollars from around 8-10 million annually to less than 2.5 million as US banks had bags of Kens stacked up because no one wanted to carry such large coins. So the mintage fell, but since it takes an act of Congress to change or stop the mintage of a given coin, they quit sending the new ones out to the banks, but offered them for sale to the public in $1000 bags. They were not intended for circulation. NIFC. Coin dealers would buy a bag or two, sort them, pick a few for grading, and the next year, dump them to get back most of their money...that is how they got into circulation. This system went on for many years, but a few years back, the Mint realized they were not selling enough halves, so now they are available to the dealers and the general public in $100 bag increments. The years are 2002-2020 inclusive.

With KT hunting 5000 halves a week, He sees several each week, so He is working towards a complete rool of each year before dumping them back into circulation. So far for 2020, KT has completed 2002, 2012 and 2018 rolls. Also, KT is always on lookout for the current year ...last year KT found His first 2019 in August and completed that roll in November. Anyway, now you know!:laughing:

Now I truly know , thank you for the info your Highness .

Good job KT, the Franklin half imo is one of the most blah coin designs ever, but it is a decent hunk of silver and always welcome to the pile, congrats!

Poor old Ben wasn't much to look at, that is true, but KT sure likes the Liberty Bell on the reverse! Many US coins have various eagle designs, but that bell is great. Been there and seen it! KT's favorite eagle is on the back of the Walker.:yes:

By law, all U.S. coins of a denomination of 25 cents or more are required to have an eagle on it. That's why, even though the Franklin has the Liberty Bell on the reverse there is also a small eagle to the side of it. Your favorite eagle is mine too...….can't beat the design.

Thanks, diggin4clad! KT had forgotten about that mini eagle, guess He's too hung up on that Bell!:laughing: KT has seen a lot of different eagle designs, even on foreign coins, like Mexican and Russian coins, but likes the Walker eagle best of all. kT agees...can't beat that design!:D:D
