My First 100 Mercury Dimes

Some are stained
Some are slick
Some are shovel kissed
Some battled with a lawnmower
Some from yards
Some from curbstrips
Some from parks
Some from ghost towns
Some from under tree roots
Some chipped from frozen ground
Some dug in the blazing heat of the summer
Some dug in only moonlight

ALL have given me joy to recover.

HOLY !!!!. 100 Mercs? That's crazy. I've never even found one...

Just a product of location. Not many in newer parks, now if we wanted to talk gold rings.... I do contemplate changing up my focus sometimes. By contrast, one nice gold ring can be worth more than a hundred Mercs.

I know this is an older thread, but I just saw it and wanted to say congrats, that is quite a feat !!!!

Argh. Still longing to find #1. Nice tribute!

Don't feel bad, it took me quite a while to find my first one, now looking for my 2nd

Congratulations!
That would make the best screen saver ever:D

Congratulations Stiffy! I agree with Matmit...Theres something special about wild found Merc dirt dimes!...

20yrs from now you could take a person right to the spot where you found your first one, thats how much of a trophy and impression they make on a person..............

Yep, I can remember the spot where I found my first Merc and it did make an impression, and what a big difference in how it feels to dig a Merc after digging Zincolns too often

Tough finds these days..... back in the early 70s we could dig 3 a day out of the local parks and go home feeling unfulfilled'

Wow, 3 Mercs a day back then and feel unfulfilled ? :?:

.....in our area it took a while before I finally dug a Merc last year !
