Few pieces this evening.
Out for an hour but gave up as the dog kept setting of the detector and was also digging huge holes.
So an 1861 silver threepence ( Queen Victoria )
2 X Musket balls.
Shell case from a Norma .243 bullet ( never heard of make or calibre ) .
Led button which i believe was sewn to the bottom of ladies skirts to weigh them down, these can date from post medieval to Victorian but this one looks in real good condition so likely Victorian.
And a nice nail, with a really sharp point still.
And apologies as i know its not metal but i did pick up another chunk of pottery which looks to be willow pattern.
Happy hunting guys.

Man that’s a nice silver coin! 243 is a good coyote/deer rifle here in the western US. Speedy little bullet! Like that sharp tack/nail and pottery bit too!

Thanks groundsweeper, Iggyks regards the shell case , there are a lot of deer in this area and have been for a very long time. The woods here were planted for game birds and deer and there was a hunting lodge in medieval times on the ground i detect on. Occasionaly there is a cull of the deer so im guessing they use a bullet that will do the job nicely so to speak.
It was a lucky evening ! the coin was tiny, still amazed at the point on the nail its like a pin most stuff has been ploughed over hundreds of times so usually a little worse for wear.
Many thanks for the comments everyone.

Awesome piece of silver. Looks pretty small. Congrats on the mixed bag hunt. To add to the .243 Win, just shy of 6mm was developed and introduced back in 1955 by Winchester. And is still one the most popular deer hunting cartridges here in the states. Cool find, in contrast a year or so back I dug a .303 British cartridge. Good luck, Mark
