Found this one at the same site I found the Mississippi rifle bullet. Unfortunately this hunt was short, started raining shortly after arrival.

What you all think, some type of carbine?

Thanks!

Looks like on of those CS lead finials, maybe to a bayonet scabbard. Another pic showing the bottom would help, along with size reference.

Here's a few more pictures....

The top one was found about 50 yds from the bottom one. You can clearly see the rings on the top one, but the bottom one, not so much.

I think in your last photo that top one looks a bit more modern. I can't recall civil war lead with the pronounced rings like that.

The lower one looks sloppy, I'm tending to side with the other user and say it might be carved. There's a few websites with examples of rounds that are similar-ish where it might also be a cast, but unfinished, bullet.

Here's some random photos:

I agree with you all, I'm thinking the bottom one might be a carved bullet. The reason the top one looks newer is because I had just washed it off in the sink, and the patina looks darker.

Thanks all for the feedback!

Now that you've added the 2nd pic, I believe its a more modern bullet that was chiseled by a field mouse sharpening its teeth.
