I found an old artifact near the water. It's caked in old sand and other crud that water and a toothbrush would not remove. On the back there's some kind of a clip or latch or something. On the front I can see lettering around the outside. One of the words ends with "-IDE" so I think perhaps it says "PRIDE" and this is an artifact from a school or club of some sort. Any help is appreciated. If you need a better picture let me know. Thanks, Jare.

It looks like one of those gag buzzers you attach to your finger and then shake someone's hand....BUZZZZZZ!
 
Cool ID, I've found a few of them, figured they were some sort of fastener but never knew for what.
