First target of the day at an old park. This place has been pounded so many times that I wasn't expecting anything nice to pop up. Some of the gilt is gone on the reverse but it's definitely a keeper.

Drool. The #2 item on my all-time bucket list (after a gold coin) is any of the known tokens from the exposition that ran in my city in the 1880's. Unfortunately, the site where the exposition took place now includes a park that is off limits to detecting and densely built turn of the century homes with very small yards. It's a lot of work and lucky timing to get permissions at those homes, all for about 30 minutes of detecting. Plus, the digging isn't easy due to the trees and roots taking up a lot of the limited green space.

Detector and VDI reading?

Wish it was solid gold, just plated brass apparently. 25-26 on the Equinox at 6 inches depth. Was expecting a silver dime from the tones. 😊

This is the building depicted on the reverse of the coin back in 1909. Big thanks to Jason S. for the image!

Very cool. I've only got one souvenir from the AYPE, a watch fob. Very neat local piece of history.
