That is what I am afraid of... moving the brush, logs and weeds and possibly moving them without knowing, out of our search grid. On the other hand, if we don't, it's likely we will never find them. I really didn't look at the direction they were thrown, and not sure if they went a little to the left or right... we just have a general area. The man that looked today assured me that they couldn't have traveled more than maybe 40-50 feet... and I am hoping he is right, however I was standing on a deck that is elevated at least 12-14 feet off the ground and I threw them as hard as I could. Any idea how far something like that can travel. I know I've read that things end up way outside where people think they are.
Depends on how good your arm is...an athletic person could get 75-100 feet possibly from an elevated deck. Does the ground slope down from the deck? Do you have branches overhanging in the direction you threw them?
