Helping with identification of Hallmark

Very nice magnified photo! The SH is the maker's mark, but it's not the same as Samuel Hope's mark you have. Could be a variation of his, or another SH goldsmith. Maker's marks are often hard to track down...sometimes impossible. The second mark is a crown, which means it is gold. The 3rd mark signifies it is 18 karat purity. The 4th mark; the anchor; indicates it is registered from the Birmingham assay office. The last mark is in fact the date code. You were correct with the year 1956. So according to the Gold Hallmark Identification Wizard, Blingdigga, you were right all along, except maybe on the maker.

0.32?? Maybe size or weight??
