'Tis The season for cabin fever. Snowed like crazy all day. What took a month to complete, was finished today. Four different grits and a nice ivory snow burnish, created this metamorphosis of once dull, petrified wood and dinosaur bone to some shiny bright petrified earthly gifts....

So what do you do to combat cabin fever?

Wow! Excellent work - thanks for sharing. I have a rock collection (cool shaped, odd colors, unusual textures) and a couple pieces of petrified wood, but I've never seen dino bones outside of museums. Combat cabin fever? I have four kids, I watch a lot of football, and I smoke-cook a lot of meat. Again, those are some great photos!

I too smoke meat and and make lots of moose, elk and beef jerky! Kids are grown up, 23 year old daughter still lives with us. Life is good!

Here's a brisket I smoked on New Year's Day. The other is bacon-wrapped smoked meatloaf.

Oh man......I am drooling now! Maybe we should have a food-porn contest!

Well, here's another. Garrett Carrot with pickled carrot.

C'mon people, post your favorite home made delicacies. :eat2:

Wow! Those are some beautiful polished stones! I didn't realize dinosaur bone and petrified wood could look so nice!
As for the smoked meat... y'all are making me hungry!😛
As for me... to combat cabin fever I do some woodworking.
The first pic is a cabinet I built to put my wood planer on. The other pictures are some folding tables (made out of cedar) I made to go with my lawn chairs.
Woodworking keeps me occupied when the weather isn't cooperating.

You do nice work! You are probably much more handy around the house then me. Thanks for posting.

Your chairs and tables are really nice! Do you ever sell what you make? I may have a food photo tomorrow - we'll see how it goes this evening.

Hell, if we're hijacking this thread, here's my canned peppers and apple butter, think I'll dig into those peppers today lol, waterproof pinpointer currently on the way.

Nice work Barefoot

John, this year like ever other I have done a lot of searching for new sites to explore only this year its a little different. I am following your lead and been looking for sites to attempt doing some Gold prospecting. Put together a river sluice and made some mats for it with the idea of this new challenge for me in 2020. Figure I'm just not old enough to not have and live out some more dreams. Going to have some great adventures and hope to share them as you have. Trapper

Oh man! You are one busy person. Those arrows are a work of art! A couple of those criss-crossed on a fireplace sure would look sharp.

Just put 12 pounds of pork loin in cure. Cure for 2 - 3 weeks then smoke. Canadian Bacon!

Have 2 Bresaloas almost at 30% weight loss. Can't wait.

Next project will be to break in my LEM 20 pound motorized sausage stuffer. I'm going with Kielbasa and Bratwurst for the trial run.

Awesome! I'm currently roasting vegetables mixed with Kielbasa and Linguica - which is a Portuguese sausage, usually only available in southeast New England and South Florida.
