Which Machine For Dry Ground?

Glad to know that I can't make it calm down by adjusting the threshold. Thought I might have done something wrong on both machines. Yes, and I am affected by hearing loss too. I really can't wait to go back down onto the camp in the morning to try this out. Would love to see what I have missed by not using it. Thanks for the help.

I got back out to my spot this morning at daylight to beat the heat. My hunting partner was with me and swinging his AT Pro. My hunting partner found a brass harness ring, a small pistol ball and a .22 bullet. It used the Xterra 705 and ran it in prospecting mode. I took me a little while to get used to the sound but after I did I kinda put me in a trance. We have absolutely beat this place to death. I found more trash and that means there is still stuff to be had here.
My first good find was a dropped .54 Minnie. This was found in what we call the bottleneck to where one field comes down to 10 feet wide and leads into another field. No telling how many times we have been over this area swinging going to and from. When I hit on it in P/M I switched the machine over to C/T. It was fairly deep at 10" and didn't ring up consistent on the TID. Even though it didn't ring up very well in C/T it still should have been dug but then again it was really weak too and was easy to miss.
My second find was a deep .58 Minnie that had been ramrodded and was also pulled. About 11" deep I would guess. This one again didn't ring up consistent on the TID.
My third and final find was a deep .54 roundball. About 8" on this one.
Not bad for dry ground. I was real impressed with the Prospecting mode. Wish I would have been using it last year when we nailed this field for the first time. Now we need some rain and I want to hit it again to see what it looks like with a bit of moisture in the ground. Need to get the Coiltek 15" WOT on here to see how it does. Thanks for the suggestion on using the Prospecting mode.

I'm glad that it worked for you. Sounds like there are a lot more finds to be had at that site, and now you have a new weapon to chase the deep stuff.
Good luck!
